About PDF Signature Tool
Add digital signatures to your PDF documents quickly and easily. This free online tool lets you draw your signature, upload a signature image, or type your name in a stylish font. All processing happens in your browser - your files never leave your device.
How do I sign a PDF online?
Simply upload your PDF, create your signature using one of three methods (draw, upload image, or type), choose where to place it, and click Add Signature. Your signed PDF is ready to download instantly.
Is my PDF document secure?
Yes, completely. All processing happens directly in your web browser using JavaScript. Your PDF and signature are never uploaded to any server. Everything stays 100% private on your device.
Is this a legally binding e-signature?
This tool creates a visual signature on your PDF document. While visual signatures are accepted in many contexts, legally binding electronic signatures for contracts may require specialized e-signature services with identity verification and audit trails.
Can I save my signature for future use?
Yes! Check the 'Save signature for next time' option and your signature will be stored locally in your browser. You can reuse it anytime without redrawing. Saved signatures stay on your device only.

What signature formats are supported?
You can draw freehand with mouse or touch, upload PNG/JPG images (transparent backgrounds work best), or type your name and choose from elegant script fonts. All methods produce high-quality signatures.
Is a typed or drawn signature legally binding for contracts?
In most jurisdictions a visual e-signature is binding for ordinary contracts under e-sign laws (US ESIGN Act 2000, EU eIDAS Simple Electronic Signature, UK 2002). For high-value contracts, deeds, real-estate or court documents, you need a Qualified Electronic Signature with certificate-based identity verification — use DocuSign, Adobe Sign or a notary.
What is the difference between this and a cryptographic PDF signature?
This tool draws a visual signature image onto the PDF — it is a picture. A cryptographic signature (PAdES, X.509) embeds a hash signed by your private key, detects tampering, and shows a green check in Acrobat. For tamper-evident signing use Adobe Acrobat Pro or specialized SaaS like SignNow.
Can I sign on a tablet or phone with my finger?
Yes. The draw canvas accepts both touch and pointer events, capturing pressure on supported devices (iPad with Apple Pencil, Samsung Galaxy with S Pen). Signatures look more natural with a stylus than a finger. Rotate device to landscape for a wider canvas.
Where are my saved signatures stored?
Saved signatures are stored in your browser localStorage as base64 PNG strings, capped at about 5 MB. They never leave your device, are not synced across browsers or devices, and disappear if you clear browser data. For team-shared signatures use a password manager.
