About Extract PDF Pages

This tool extracts specific pages from PDF files. You can visually select which pages to extract by clicking on thumbnails, or type a page range like 1-3,5. By default the new PDF keeps pages in their original ascending order, but you can enable "Keep range order" to output pages in the exact sequence you typed (e.g. 5,2,8) — ideal for assembling exhibits, signature packets, or reordered decks. All processing happens in your browser for complete privacy; your file is never uploaded.

How do I select pages to extract?

After uploading a PDF, you will see thumbnails of all pages. Click on the thumbnails to select pages you want to extract. Selected pages will be highlighted. You can also use Select All or Deselect All buttons.

What is the file size limit?

The maximum file size is 50MB. This ensures smooth performance in your browser. For larger files, consider using desktop PDF software.

Can I preview the extracted PDF?

Yes! After extraction, you can preview the new PDF containing only your selected pages before downloading. You can also use fullscreen mode for better viewing.

Can I keep the pages in a custom order?

Yes. By default the extracted pages appear in ascending order. To control the order, type the pages in the Page Range box in the sequence you want (e.g. 5,2,8) and tick "Keep range order". The new PDF then comes out as pages 5, 2, 8 — perfect for moving a signature page to the front or assembling an exhibit set. If you instead toggle individual checkboxes or use Select All, the tool reverts to ascending order.

Does extraction preserve form fields, bookmarks, hyperlinks, and annotations?

Page content (text, images, vector graphics) is copied faithfully, but most document-level interactivity is not. Like other client-side PDF tools, copying pages drops AcroForm fields, bookmarks (outlines), document-level JavaScript, and many hyperlinks and annotations. If you need to preserve form fields or a full bookmark tree, keep the original PDF or use a dedicated desktop editor.

Are tagged-PDF and accessibility structures retained?

No. The logical structure tree used for tagged/accessible PDFs (PDF/UA) is a document-level feature that is not carried over when pages are copied. The extracted file will contain the visible page content but will not be a tagged PDF, so re-tag it afterward if accessibility compliance is required.

Can I extract non-consecutive pages?

Yes! You can select any pages you want, whether they are consecutive or not. For example, you can extract pages 1, 5, 10, and 20 into a new 4-page PDF.

What happens to the original PDF?

The original PDF file is not modified. The tool creates a new PDF file containing only your selected pages. Your original file remains unchanged.

Is my PDF file safe?

Absolutely! All page extraction happens directly in your browser. Your PDF file is never uploaded to any server. Everything stays private on your device.

How many pages can I extract?

You can extract any number of pages from 1 to the total number of pages in the PDF. The tool works best with PDFs up to 100 pages for optimal performance.
