About 7Z Extractor Tool

This tool extracts files from various archive formats including 7Z, RAR, ISO, TAR, GZ, and more. Upload your archive and extract all contents with a single click. You can preview and download individual files or all files at once. All processing happens in your browser for complete privacy.

What archive formats are supported?

This tool supports 7Z, RAR, ISO, TAR, GZ, TGZ, BZ2, XZ, CAB, AR, CPIO, and many other archive formats. It uses libarchive.js which supports dozens of compression and archive formats.

How does the extractor work?

Upload an archive file and click Extract Files. The tool will decompress and extract the archive, displaying all contained files in a tree structure. You can then preview supported files or download them individually or all together.

What is the file size limit?

The maximum archive size is 300MB. This ensures smooth performance in your browser. For larger archives, consider using desktop software.

Can I extract password-protected archives?

Currently, this tool does not support password-protected or encrypted archives. Please use an unencrypted archive or remove the password protection before extracting.

Can I preview files before downloading?

Yes! For supported file types (images, text files, PDFs, and small unknown files), you can preview them directly in your browser before downloading.

How do I download multiple files?

You can use checkboxes to select multiple files and click Download Selected, or click Download All Files to download everything. Files are downloaded sequentially with a small delay between each.

Is my data safe?

Absolutely! All file extraction happens directly in your browser using JavaScript. Your archive is never uploaded to any server. Everything stays private on your device.

What if my archive is corrupted?

If the archive is corrupted or uses an unsupported feature, you will see an error message. Try re-downloading the original archive or use desktop software for complex archives.
