Edit Photos in Your Browser - No Upload, No Software

Edit images online for free with our professional-grade editor powered by FileRobot Image Editor (MIT License). This photo editing tool brings together the most-used pro features: precise cropping with aspect-ratio presets, exact-pixel resizing, rotate and flip, fine-tune adjustments (brightness, contrast, saturation, exposure, hue), a library of professional filters, freehand drawing and annotation (pen, arrows, text), and a watermark tool for branding photos. Perfect for graphic designers, photographers, social media managers, content creators, and marketers who need quick professional photo edits without installing software. All processing happens in your browser, ensuring complete privacy—images never leave your device and are never uploaded to a server. On export, the re-encoded file is stripped of EXIF and GPS metadata, protecting the location and camera details embedded in the original. Works on desktop, tablet, and mobile. No watermark, no registration, no limits. Free forever.

What can I do with this image editor?

This editor focuses on the tools professionals use most. FINETUNE - adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, exposure, and hue with live sliders. FILTERS - apply a library of one-click color and tone presets. ADJUST - crop with aspect-ratio presets (Original, Square, 16:9, 4:3, 3:2), rotate by any angle, and flip horizontally or vertically. WATERMARK - overlay a logo, image, or text watermark to brand your photos. ANNOTATE - draw freehand, add lines, arrows, and text labels on top of the image. RESIZE - set exact output width and height in pixels. Every change shows a live preview, and you can undo or redo as you work before exporting to JPG, PNG, or WebP.

How do I use the image editor?

1) UPLOAD IMAGE - drag and drop or click to select an image (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, or BMP, up to 20MB). 2) REVIEW INFO - the panel above the canvas shows the original dimensions, megapixels, file size, and format so you can plan crops and resizes without upscaling. 3) CHOOSE A TAB - pick from Finetune, Filters, Adjust, Watermark, Annotate, or Resize. 4) MAKE EDITS - each tab opens its own options; combine multiple tabs (for example, crop in Adjust, then add a Watermark, then apply a Filter). 5) SAVE - click Save to download the result. The editor shows a real-time preview of every change.

How do I resize an image to exact pixel dimensions?

Open the Resize tab and type the exact width and height in pixels you need (for example 1080 x 1080 for an Instagram square, 1200 x 630 for an Open Graph share image, or 1920 x 1080 for a thumbnail). The original dimensions and megapixels shown in the info panel help you avoid upscaling: enlarging beyond the source resolution introduces soft, blurry artifacts, so resize down rather than up whenever possible. To change shape instead of scale, use the Adjust tab to crop to a specific aspect ratio first, then resize.

Does it preserve transparency, and what about quality?

Yes. Export to PNG or WebP to keep transparent backgrounds; PNG is lossless and best for graphics, logos, and text overlays. JPG does not support transparency (transparent areas become a solid background) but produces smaller files for photographs. Output is saved at high quality (95%) by default, so photos stay crisp. Use PNG when you need transparency or sharp edges, JPG for the smallest photographic files, and WebP for a modern balance of quality and size.

Does the editor remove EXIF and GPS metadata?

Yes. When you save, the image is re-encoded from the browser canvas, which produces a clean file without the original EXIF block—so camera model, capture timestamp, and embedded GPS location are not carried into the exported image. This is important for privacy when sharing photos publicly, since GPS coordinates in a phone photo can reveal where it was taken. If you specifically need to keep metadata, this editor is not the right tool, because re-export always strips it.

Can I add a watermark to my photos?

Yes. The Watermark tab lets you overlay branding on your image—add a text watermark (your name, studio, or website) or place an image/logo watermark. You can reposition it, scale it, and adjust its opacity so it is visible without overpowering the photo. This is ideal for photographers protecting portfolio shots, designers branding mockups, and social media managers adding consistent identity to posts before publishing.

Can I draw and annotate on images?

Yes, through the Annotate tab. Draw freehand with an adjustable brush, add straight lines and directional arrows, and place text labels anywhere on the canvas. The default stroke and text color use our brand blue, and you can change colors, stroke width, and text size. Annotation is perfect for highlighting areas in screenshots, marking up product photos, creating quick diagrams, and adding callouts for documentation or feedback.

What image formats are supported?

INPUT FORMATS: JPEG/JPG (photos), PNG (with transparency), WebP (modern format), GIF (first frame), and BMP. Formats such as HEIC, TIFF, AVIF, and SVG are intentionally not accepted because most browsers cannot reliably decode them on the HTML5 canvas used for editing and export—convert those to JPG or PNG first. OUTPUT FORMATS: PNG (lossless, supports transparency), JPEG (smaller files, good for photos), WebP (modern, great compression). Maximum input size: 20MB.

Is my data private and secure?

Yes, absolutely. This editor is 100% client-side. ALL PROCESSING happens in your browser using JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas. IMAGES ARE NEVER uploaded to any server—they stay on your device. NO DATA is collected, transmitted, or stored. NO TRACKING is performed on your images, and NO ACCOUNT is required. You can even use the editor offline once the page has loaded. On export the file is stripped of EXIF/GPS metadata, adding an extra layer of privacy. This makes it safe for editing sensitive images, personal photos, confidential documents, and unreleased designs.

Can I use this for commercial projects?

Yes! This tool is completely free for both personal and commercial use with no restrictions. You can edit product photos for e-commerce, create social media graphics, design marketing materials, edit client photos, prepare images for print, make video thumbnails, and design ads and banners. You retain full rights to your edited images. The editor is built on FileRobot Image Editor, which is released under the MIT License and permits commercial use. Always ensure you have the rights to edit the original images you upload.
