About Video Metadata Viewer
Video Metadata Viewer is a free tool that reads the real stream data inside your video files. Drop a file and FFmpeg.wasm inspects it locally in your browser — no upload — to reveal the true video codec and profile/level, pixel format and bit depth, exact frame rate (including 29.97), encoded bitrate, color space, and per-track audio codec, channels and sample rate, plus container tags.
What information can I see?
File info (name, size, type, MIME) plus real stream details: video codec and profile/level, resolution, frame rate, pixel format, bit depth, color space, encoded bitrate, and each audio track's codec, channels and sample rate.
What video formats are supported?
This tool supports most common video formats including MP4, WebM, MOV, AVI, MKV, M4V, WMV, FLV, 3GP, OGV, MPEG, and MPG.

Does my video leave my device?
No. The file is read entirely in your browser by FFmpeg.wasm — nothing is uploaded to any server, so it is safe for confidential or NDA footage.
Can I export the metadata?
Yes, you can export metadata as JSON or TXT format, or copy all metadata to your clipboard with one click.
