About Channel Mixer

This online audio channel mixer allows you to manipulate audio channels in various ways. Convert mono audio to stereo, combine stereo to mono, swap left and right channels, or extract individual channels. Perfect for fixing audio balance issues, creating specific channel configurations, or preparing audio for different playback systems.

What audio formats are supported?

Input: MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC, M4A, and other common formats. Output: You can choose to keep the same format as input or convert to MP3, WAV, OGG, or AAC.

What is the difference between Mono and Stereo?

Mono audio has 1 channel - the same sound plays in both ears. Stereo audio has 2 channels (left and right) - different sounds can play in each ear, creating a spatial effect and wider soundstage.

When should I convert Mono to Stereo?

Convert mono to stereo when you need a stereo file for compatibility (some systems require stereo), when mixing with stereo tracks, or when the platform requires stereo format. Note: Converting mono to stereo doesn't create a true stereo effect, it just duplicates the channel.

When should I convert Stereo to Mono?

Convert stereo to mono to reduce file size, for voice recordings where stereo isn't needed, for mono playback systems, or when you want to combine both channels into one. Useful for podcasts, audiobooks, and voice memos.

What does Swap Channels do?

Swap Channels exchanges the left and right audio channels. This is useful if audio was recorded with reversed channels, for fixing stereo balance issues, or for creative effects. After swapping, what played in your left ear will play in your right ear.

What are Left Only and Right Only?

These extract a single channel from stereo audio. 'Left Only' takes the left channel and copies it to both sides. 'Right Only' does the same with the right channel. Useful for extracting one side of a split track or removing one channel's content.

Will converting affect audio quality?

The channel conversion itself doesn't reduce quality. However, the audio will be re-encoded based on your quality settings. Use 'High' (320kbps) to maintain excellent quality.

What is the file size limit?

The maximum file size is 50MB. This ensures smooth processing in your browser.

Is my audio file safe?

Absolutely! All audio processing happens directly in your browser using FFmpeg.wasm. Your audio file is never uploaded to any server.
