About Silence Inserter
This online silence inserter allows you to add silent gaps at specific timestamps in your audio files. Perfect for creating pauses in presentations, adding breaks in audiobooks, or adjusting timing in music recordings. Simply specify where and how long you want silence inserted.
What audio formats are supported?
Input: MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC, M4A, and other common formats. Output: You can choose to keep the same format as input or convert to MP3, WAV, OGG, or AAC.
How do I add silence to my audio?
After uploading your audio file, click 'Add Silence Point' to create an insertion point. Enter the time position (in seconds) where you want silence inserted and the duration of the silence. You can add multiple silence points at different timestamps.
Can I add multiple silence points?
Yes! You can add as many silence points as you need. Each silence point can be at a different timestamp and have its own duration. The tool will process all points and create the final audio with all silences inserted.
What time format should I use?
Enter time in seconds as a number. Examples: 10 for 10 seconds, 1.5 for 1.5 seconds, 90 for 1 minute 30 seconds. The tool will automatically calculate the correct position in your audio.
What happens if I insert silence at the same position multiple times?
If you add multiple silence points at the same or overlapping positions, they will be combined. The tool processes silence points in order from earliest to latest timestamp.
What is the file size limit?
The maximum file size is 50MB. This ensures smooth processing in your browser.
Can I preview before downloading?
Yes! You can listen to the original audio first, then preview the result after inserting silence to verify it sounds correct before downloading.
Is my audio file safe?
Absolutely! All audio processing happens directly in your browser using FFmpeg.wasm. Your audio file is never uploaded to any server.
What are common use cases?
This tool is perfect for: adding pauses in presentations and speeches, creating breaks between audiobook chapters, inserting silence for timing adjustments in music, adding gaps for synchronization with video, preparing audio for educational content, and spacing out podcast segments.
